Saffron Uses

Saffron Uses:- Saffron is a very precious spice obtained from stigma of the flowers Crocus Sativus Linnaeus, more popularly known as the Saffron rose. Extracting is not that easy as it may seem. The saffron filaments are actually dried stigmas of saffron flower and it requires nearly 75,000 flowers to get one pound of saffron. It is considered to be an antispasmodic plant which helps to improve digestion and increase appetite.

There are supposedly numerous beneficial uses of saffron. These benefits may include treating depression, asthma, atherosclerosis, and painful menstrual periods, among other conditions. There are some evidences that saffron may have anti-cancer effects and may help lower cholesterol and triglycerides. Saffron is also sometimes used topically to help with certain conditions, such as baldness.
